Collecting Payments
Mimo Forms allows you to process payments directly within your forms. Whether you're selling digital goods, accepting donations, or setting up recurring subscriptions, our Stripe integration makes it simple and secure. In this guide, we'll walk you through connecting your Stripe account and adding a payment field.
Step 1: Connect your Stripe Account
To accept payments, you must first authorize Mimo Forms to process transactions on your behalf using Stripe.
- Log into your Mimo Forms dashboard.
- Navigate to the Payments tab.
- Click the Connect with Stripe button.
- You will be redirected to the secure Stripe portal. Log into your existing Stripe account or create a new one.
- Once authorized, you will be redirected back to Mimo Forms. Your account is now ready to process payments securely!
[!NOTE]
Mimo Forms does not store any credit card information on our servers. All transaction data is securely handled directly by Stripe to ensure maximum PCI compliance.
Step 2: Add a Payment Field to your Form
Now that Stripe is connected, you can add checkout capabilities to any of your forms.
- Open the Form Builder for the form you want to edit.
- From the left sidebar, drag the Payment field onto your form canvas.
- Click on the Payment field to open its settings in the right sidebar.
Step 3: Configure Payment Settings
You have full control over what the user is purchasing and how much they are charged.
- Payment Type: Choose between a "One-time purchase", a "Donation", or a "Recurring Subscription".
- Amount: Set a fixed price (e.g., $50) or leave it dynamic so the user can enter their own amount (perfect for open-ended donations).
- Currency: Select your preferred currency from dozens of supported options.
- Product Name: Provide a clear description of what the user is buying. This name will appear on their receipt.
[!TIP]
You can use Conditional Logic in combination with Payments! For example, you can show the Payment field only if the user selects a specific option from a dropdown menu.
Step 4: Test and Publish
Before going live, it's always a good idea to ensure everything works smoothly.
- When a user submits your form, they will be seamlessly presented with a secure Stripe Checkout session.
- Only after the payment is successfully completed will the form submission be finalized and marked as "Paid" in your Submissions dashboard.
- We recommend making a test submission using a Stripe test card before sharing the form link with your audience.
