Setting Up Email Notifications
Managing how and where you receive notifications is crucial for staying on top of your form submissions. In this guide, we'll walk you through configuring custom sender emails and setting up instant submission alerts for your entire workspace.
Step 1: Access Notification Settings
To begin configuring your email preferences, navigate to your workspace settings.
- Log into your Mimo Forms dashboard.
- Click on the Settings tab in the main navigation.
- Scroll down to the Notifications and Email Headers & SMTP sections.
Step 2: Configure the Sender Email (SMTP)
By default, emails sent from your forms (such as auto-replies) are sent from no-reply@mimoforms.com. You can change this to your own custom domain.
- Under the Email Headers & SMTP section, locate the Sender Email Address field.
- Enter the custom email address you wish to send emails from (e.g.,
hello@yourdomain.com). - If you have custom SMTP credentials configured on your plan, emails will now be routed through your own mail server.
- Click the Send Test Email button to verify that your SMTP configuration is working correctly.
[!IMPORTANT]
If you encounter an error when sending a test email, double-check that you have filled in all required SMTP fields and that your host is not blocking the connection.
Step 3: Enable Instant Submission Notifications
You can opt to receive a real-time email alert every time someone successfully completes any form in your workspace.
- Scroll down to the Notifications section.
- Toggle on the switch labeled Instant Submission Notifications.
- A new field titled Notification Email Address will appear.
- Enter the email address where you want to receive these alerts (e.g., your personal or support team inbox).
[!NOTE]
This setting acts as a global default for your entire workspace. If you set a specific notification email inside an individual form's builder settings, it will override this global setting for that specific form!
