Creating and Publishing a Form
Creating and publishing forms is straightforward with Mimo Forms' intuitive drag-and-drop editor. In this guide, we'll show you how to create a complete form from scratch, add fields, set up conditional logic, and publish it for your users.
Step 1: Create a New Form
To get started, you'll need to create a new form from your workspace dashboard.
- Log into your Mimo Forms dashboard.
- Click the New Form button in the top right corner.
- Give your form a descriptive name (e.g., "Contact Us" or "Feedback Survey").
- You will automatically be taken to the Builder tab.
[!NOTE]
If you are on the Business Pro or Agency Use plan, you can select advanced templates from the modal instead of starting entirely from scratch.
Step 2: Add Form Fields
Mimo Forms supports a wide variety of fields to capture exactly the data you need.
- In the Builder, look at the left sidebar to see all available fields.
- Drag a field from the sidebar and drop it onto the central canvas.
- Common fields include Short Text, Long Text, Email, Number, Dropdowns, and Checkboxes.
- Click on the field you just dropped to open its properties on the right sidebar. Here you can change the label, add placeholder text, and mark the field as "Required".
[!TIP]
Need to capture large files? Business Pro users can drag the File Upload field to securely accept up to 20 GB of files per submission.
Step 3: Setup Conditional Logic (Optional)
Make your forms smarter by showing or hiding fields based on previous answers.
- Select any field in your builder canvas.
- In the right-hand properties panel, scroll down to the Logic section.
- Click Add Rule.
- Set your conditions (e.g., "Show this field IF 'Company Size' is GREATER THAN 50").
- The field will now dynamically hide or show based on user input.
Step 4: Add Pages and Steps
Long forms convert better when broken into smaller steps.
- In the left sidebar, find the Page Break element under Advanced Fields.
- Drag it onto your canvas where you want the page to split.
- Users will now see a progress indicator and "Next/Previous" buttons as they navigate through the steps.
Step 5: Customize and Publish
Before you share your form, you can match it to your brand's aesthetic.
- Navigate to the Design tab at the top of the builder.
- Change the primary color, background color, and typography to match your website.
- Once you're happy with the look, click the Publish button in the top right corner.
- You will be provided with a direct link to share, as well as an embed code to place the form directly on your own website.
[!NOTE]
Remove Branding: Business Pro and Agency users can toggle off the "Powered by Mimo Forms" badge in the form settings before publishing.
